The place where I first met Ven. Khemika.

Downtown
Monday is my only day off. I had to go into Yangon city to attend a job interview at ILBC. There were no immediate jobs but we discussed future positions, which is what I wanted as I do not want a paid job here just yet. I had a wonderful day with Ven. Khemika. We enjoyed our lunch immensely, as it was served hot! I was delighted watching Khemika eat it with such pleasure, luckily he ate most of it as we ordered a little too much and I couldn't finish it all. We went back to the Swedagon Paya and revisited the spot where I first met him and the other monks. Many people looked at us throughout the day as there was a foreigner with a monk, which I suppose is a bit rare. He took me to visit his childhood friend who attends a university there and is studying Pali. His friend, Ven. Oba gave me a book of small quotes from the Dhammapada, which I look forward to reading. Then he helped me do some grocery shopping and to stock up on supplies. As you can see in some of the photos I have lost a bit of weight, unintentionally, I've been trying to eat well, but it's been difficult to do so. Especially because most of my cooked food is served cold, and this stifles my appetite a bit. We also bought some English books for my lesson planning. I really had such a wonderful day today. I'm so happy to be here!
