A matter of survival

I've seen cats chase geckos (small lizards) before, but I must admit I was astounded yesterday night when Oscar dashed for the lizard with such enthusiasm, making a loud thud when he hit the wall. Then, he proceeded to devour it whole! I could hear the crunching sounds as he munched on it and only hoped the lizard has perished quickly. I suppose he must get his nutrition somehow. I'll buy some more cat food tomorrow downtown.
